ADNOC Deepens Gas Partnership with India

The UAE continues to strengthen its position in Asian energy markets, as ADNOC announced on Friday, November 6, 2026, the signing of a long-term agreement with India's "Gujarat Energy" to supply up to four million tons of liquefied natural gas over ten years, starting in 2028.

The agreement holds particular significance as it marks the first gas sale from the international portfolio of "XRG," ADNOC's global investment arm, and represents the fifth LNG supply agreement the company has concluded with buyers in India.

The deal is part of a UAE strategy to expand its presence in global markets through a gas marketing and trading platform launched in July 2026 at the Abu Dhabi Global Market, which aims to market 47 million tons annually after 2030.

The importance of the agreement goes beyond the contracted volumes, as it reflects ADNOC's shift from exporting its domestic resources to marketing supplies produced by international assets, granting it greater flexibility in managing markets and diversifying revenue sources.

For India, which is witnessing growing energy demand, the agreement provides long-term supplies that support industrial and economic needs, while reinforcing the UAE's position as a reliable partner in Asian energy security.
