The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2026) concluded its activities on Thursday, November 5, recording a record total of agreements and deals estimated at $67 billion, an increase of 26.4% compared to the previous year's edition.
According to official figures, the exhibition saw the registration of more than 50,000 deals and agreements, with the participation of about 240,000 visitors from 170 countries, alongside more than 40 ministers and government officials, and about 2,260 exhibiting companies.
The exhibition's activities spanned four days, addressing global energy security challenges, technological transformation, and ways to enhance supply stability in light of geopolitical tensions and rising demand for energy sources.
One of the most prominent developments announced during the event was the agreement by ADNOC's "XRG" company with "Shell" to acquire its stake in the "North West Shelf" liquefied natural gas project in Australia, in a deal valued at $1.5 billion.
The exhibition also highlighted new partnerships in artificial intelligence, particularly the collaboration between ADNOC, "OpenAI," and "G42" to develop technology applications in industrial and energy operations.
The exhibition's results indicate the growing status of Abu Dhabi as an international platform for investments and partnerships in the energy sector, although the total announced value of the deals does not mean that the full amounts have already been spent, as implementation stages and financial obligations vary from one agreement to another.
The results reveal that global competition in the energy sector is no longer linked to production volume alone, but now includes technology, finance, supply chain security, and infrastructure.
