Abu Dhabi – Thursday November 5, 2026
The United Arab Emirates continues to solidify its position in the global energy equation through an economic vision that combines the development of production capacities, the localization of advanced industries, and investment in technology and artificial intelligence. This approach reflects Abu Dhabi's ambition to enhance its economic competitiveness and expand its role in ensuring stable energy supplies for international markets.
In this context, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, chaired today, Thursday, the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company ("ADNOC") at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center. The meeting reviewed the company's performance during the first ten months of 2026, monitored the progress of its strategic projects, and explored prospects for developing its operational processes.
The meeting carried significant economic messages, most notably that enhancing energy security is no longer solely linked to production volume, but now requires an integrated ecosystem encompassing innovation, operational readiness, and supply chain resilience. In this regard, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi emphasized the continued investment in the company's production capacities, expanding the utilization of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to enhance its efficiency and ability to respond to growing global demand.
Discussions were not limited to the future of the energy sector, but extended to ADNOC's role in stimulating the national economy, as the meeting reviewed the results of the second edition of the "Make it in the Emirates" forum. The event witnessed the participation of over a thousand local companies and manufacturers, during which the company announced domestic manufacturing opportunities exceeding 60 billion dirhams until 2030, opening new horizons for national contractors and boosting investment and employment opportunities.
This direction reflects the keenness of the Emirati leadership to transform energy investments into a broader lever for economic development by developing national competencies, encouraging innovation, and strengthening the presence of the private sector, thereby supporting the building of a diversified economy better equipped to keep pace with international transformations.
Furthermore, the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference ("ADIPEC 2026") was a key focus of the meeting, given its standing as an international platform gathering major players in the energy industry—with participation from over 2,250 exhibiting entities—and the opportunities it provides to forge partnerships, attract investments, and exchange technological expertise.
The importance of this meeting lies in its ability to bridge present priorities with future stakes, as Abu Dhabi strives to maintain the reliability of its energy supplies while building a more advanced industrial and technological base. This approach reflects an Emirati strategy based on leveraging the power of the energy sector to support economic diversification and reinforce the nation's position as a strategic partner in global markets.
