The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, paid a visit on Wednesday morning, November 4, 2026, to the Mohammed VI University Hospital Center in Agadir, to check on the health condition of a security officer who was deliberately run over while performing his duties, resulting in severe injuries and fractures.

During the visit, he inquired about the officer's health status and his response to medical treatments, praising his professional dedication and sacrifices in the line of duty, while affirming the security institution's commitment to protecting its employees and providing them with the necessary support.

The Director General of National Security had previously decided to exceptionally promote the injured officer, while fully covering the costs of his treatment and hospitalization, in a move reflecting recognition of the sacrifices made by security personnel and appreciation of the risks they face while carrying out their duties.

This visit comes in the wake of the run-over incident that took place in Agadir on October 29, when a driver refused to comply with a stop signal at a security checkpoint before striking the officer, an incident that prompted a security intervention and into which judicial authorities launched an investigation.

Hammouchi's visit carries both a humanitarian and institutional message, affirming that the safety of security personnel and the preservation of their professional dignity remain top priorities for the Directorate General of National Security.
