The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has published a comprehensive assessment report on the financial performance and economic outlook of the United Arab Emirates, forecasting that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will experience a notable acceleration, reaching a growth rate of 7.7% by the year 2027. The report attributes these positive estimates to the structural soundness of non-oil economic activities, which already account for more than 74% of the total national economy, driven by the boom in foreign trade, tourism, air transport, financial and logistics services, and the real estate market.
The Fund praised flexible monetary and fiscal policies, as well as the maintenance of fiscal discipline, noting that continuous legislative reforms, such as granting 100% foreign ownership to businesses and expanding the network of comprehensive economic partnership agreements with countries worldwide, have helped boost foreign direct investment flows. Furthermore, the report highlighted that the UAE's strategic investments in renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and advanced infrastructure reinforce the resilience of its economy and its capacity to efficiently absorb global market shocks and volatility.
