Dr. Mohamed Saad:
In the presence of Ambassador Ahmed Nihad Abdel Latif, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Kingdom of Morocco, the Defense Office of the Egyptian Embassy in Rabat organized a reception to mark the 53rd anniversary of the glorious October victory.
The event was attended by officials from Moroccan authorities and the Royal Armed Forces, as well as ambassadors accredited to Morocco, defense attachés from foreign embassies, representatives of international and regional organizations, alongside numerous public figures and members of the Egyptian community.
Colonel Staff Abdel Moneim Bahiri, the embassy's defense attaché, emphasized in his speech that the October victory embodied Egypt's will and the steadfastness of its people, demonstrating the capacity of its armed forces to safeguard the nation's sovereignty. He highlighted that the men of the armed forces offered the most noble examples of sacrifice and dedication to achieve victory. He also stressed that the Egyptian armed forces remain fully capable of confronting various challenges and threats to protect Egyptian national security. He noted that the Egypt that fought and reclaimed its land is the very same Egypt that consistently strives to achieve peace.
Likewise, the defense attaché highlighted the heroic Moroccan participation in the battles of the October War, paying tribute to the noble martyrs of the Kingdom who sacrificed their lives, ensuring that their sacrifice remains an eternal testimony to unity in the ranks and authentic Arab solidarity.
During a meeting with the press, the Egyptian ambassador expressed his profound respect and gratitude to the men of the Egyptian armed forces, who assumed the responsibility of reclaiming the homeland's land and restoring its dignity, while also praising the Kingdom of Morocco's participation in the October War.
Ambassador Ahmed Nihad Abdel Latif also underscored the historical and fraternal relations between Egypt and Morocco, which enjoy the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and His Majesty King Mohammed VI. In this regard, he reaffirmed both countries' commitment to enhancing joint cooperation across various fields, as reflected by the holding of the first session of the Coordination and Follow-up Committee, chaired by the Prime Ministers of Egypt and Morocco in Cairo on April 6th, as well as ongoing efforts to materialize its outcomes.
The atmosphere of the reception reflected the depth of friendship and partnership relations, as well as the close bonds uniting the two countries and the brotherly Egyptian and Moroccan peoples. The celebration program also included the screening of a documentary entitled «The Crossing Continues», which addresses the role of the Egyptian armed forces in the liberation of Sinai.
