The «Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives» foundation has announced the allocation of 150 million dirhams to finance an integrated package of humanitarian and social programs and projects aimed at supporting the most disadvantaged groups and empowering authorized charitable associations in the country; in a strategic step that seeks to institutionalize charitable work and transition from a temporary aid model to community sustainability and long-term development solutions.
This step is based on an operational and humanitarian track record documented in the foundation's annual reports, which indicate that its projects and initiatives have reached more than 111 million beneficiaries in 105 countries, with an annual expenditure volume exceeding 1.8 billion dirhams, reflecting the efficiency of financial governance and the tangible impact of social investment; furthermore, these allocations are in line with the guidelines of the reports from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), which call for strengthening the capacities of local actors and non-governmental organizations as vital operational partners to accelerate the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals related to social protection and poverty eradication.
The injection of this funding contributes to expanding the reach of social safety nets by enabling partner national associations to improve their operational readiness and offer qualitative aid that includes vital empowerment programs, education, and the payment of financial obligations for critical cases; thus consolidating the Emirati model of humanitarian work based on institutional partnership and rigorous governance to ensure the sustainability of humanitarian impact and the delivery of support to all deserving cases with the highest standards of transparency and efficiency.
