Tunisia continues to expand its presence in international markets related to environmental technology, with the participation of 40 Tunisian economic enterprises in the 29th edition of the "Ecomondo 2026" exhibition, hosted by the Italian city of Rimini from November 3 to 6 of this month. This step reflects the keen interest of Tunisian institutions in the investment opportunities offered by the transition towards a green and circular economy.
According to the Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) news agency on Thursday, the Tunisian participation includes 14 enterprises within the international buyers program, which provides direct meetings with companies specializing in environmental solutions and modern technologies, opening avenues for building new commercial and industrial partnerships.
"Ecomondo" is considered one of the most prominent international events specializing in waste recovery and recycling, water resource management, bioenergy, pollution treatment, and technologies aimed at emission reduction and sustainability promotion.
Tunisian participation gains special importance given the environmental and economic challenges facing the country, foremost among which are pressure on water resources, high energy costs, and the need to develop waste treatment systems and recover recyclable materials.
This event also allows Tunisian enterprises to explore the latest industrial solutions and exchange expertise with economic actors from various countries, along with exploring cooperation opportunities in the fields of environmental innovation and the circular economy.
This participation indicates the growing interest of the Tunisian economic sector in investing in sustainable technology. However, translating this international presence into tangible economic gains remains contingent upon the ability of institutions to forge practical partnerships, attract technologies, and deploy them in projects within Tunisia.
