Chichaoua: Family Suspicions End the Life of a Man in His Fifties

The jurisdiction of the Mjenat commune, under the Chichaoua province, was shaken on Thursday, October 29, 2026, by a crime that claimed the life of a man in his fifties inside a family residence, following a fierce dispute that broke out between him and three brothers over suspicions and apprehension by the sons regarding the nature of the victim's visits to their widowed mother.

Precise field data indicate that the victim's continuous visits to the family home aroused the suspicion of the three brothers, quickly escalating into heated arguments and a scuffle inside the residence that ended in the death of the fifty-year-old under mysterious circumstances. The suspects subsequently carried the body out of the house and disposed of it in a remote wilderness area to avoid suspicion.

In a decisive turn of events, the three brothers chose to go voluntarily to the Royal Gendarmerie center in Mjenat, where they placed themselves at the disposal of investigators and confessed to committing the act and moving the body to the wilderness, prompting the gendarmerie forces to immediately mobilize to inspect and locate the body.

Under the direction of the competent public prosecution, the victim's remains were deposited in the morgue to undergo a precise medical autopsy to determine the direct criminal cause of death, while the three brothers were placed under theoretical custody to continue preliminary investigations, determine responsibilities, and legally characterize the acts attributed to each of them.
