Sefrou Ambush Catches Cocaine Trafficker Red-Handed

Elements of the anti-gang unit under the Fez Prefecture of Police, in close intelligence coordination with the services of the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), successfully paralyzed the activity of a hard drug trafficker following a precise security operation carried out on the outskirts of the city of Sefrou. This came after a period of field tracking and monitoring of the movements of the suspect, aged 35, who was the subject of five national arrest warrants.

The immediate intervention resulted in surprising the individual and catching him red-handed inside his vehicle. Careful search operations led to the seizure of a full kilogram of cocaine, a financial sum estimated at 300,000 dirhams (30 million centimes) suspected to be proceeds from trafficking, in addition to two large white weapons and the vehicle used to facilitate this illicit activity.

The detainee has been placed under custody at the disposal of the judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor's office, in order to track the potential extensions of this criminal network, trace supply routes, and identify and arrest any other presumed accomplices.
