Amidst the rubble of extremism and moments of recklessness, security authorities in Jordan unveiled the details of a bloody episode in the village of "Hammoud" in Karak Governorate, southern Jordan, where specialized agencies surrounded the threads of a crime targeting a church and a mourning gathering there. In a scene reflecting the state's decisiveness and vigilance, the operation ended with the encirclement and arrest of the perpetrators without any casualties among the security forces, as investigations revealed secrets and identities that did not go beyond the circle of kinship and isolated takfiri tendencies.
Regarding the details of the security scene, the Public Security Directorate announced the identities of the three suspects: Hazzam Zidan Mohammed, who was pointed to as the mastermind of the operation, his brother Meshaal Zidan Mohammed, known for his hardline tendencies, along with their in-law Ahmed Sami Hussein; all of whom reside in the town of "Hammoud" and hail from the same family sharing extremist ideas that represent nothing more than their narrow convictions. Preliminary investigations yielded a striking surprise indicating that the attack was not the fruit of complex plans or pre-organized terrorist cells, but rather the result of a sudden and unexpected decision made by the perpetrators to target participants in a funeral inside the church. However, the proactive move and qualitative raid carried out by the Ministry of Interior and specialized agencies on an abandoned house where the perpetrators had barricaded themselves and subsequently opened fire, led to the wounding of all three and their complete subjugation, while seizing the weapons and ammunition in their possession, without recording any human casualties among the security personnel.
On the official front, Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya affirmed that the long arm of justice will reach anyone tampering with Jordan's security, stressing that the blood of the victims is protected and the state is proceeding with unyielding resolve to protect its stability and society. While initial data confirms the absence of any external organizational links of the perpetrators to other cells, intensive government and security efforts continue to uproot the roots of extremist ideology, amidst the completion of technical and legal files in preparation for referring the defendants to the judiciary to receive their just punishment in accordance with the rule of law.
