The Kingdom of Morocco is preparing to enter a new phase of weather fluctuations, with the return of rainfall and a relative drop in temperatures, starting on Monday, November 2, 2026, amid the impact of atmospheric disturbances affecting several regions, alongside hopes that these rains will boost the agricultural season and alleviate the effects of dry periods experienced in some parts of the country.
Data issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology indicates that weather conditions will be marked by rain and showers, which may be locally thundery, especially in the High Atlas peaks and neighboring western regions, the Souss region, and the southeast, with the possibility of hail in some southern provinces, in addition to the formation of low clouds and fog banks along several Atlantic coasts and plains.
In the context of these disturbances, the Directorate issued an orange-level alert bulletin warning of strong thundery showers accompanied by hail and gusts of wind. Rainfall measurements are expected to range between 20 and 30 mm in the provinces of Smara, Oued Ed-Dahab, Boujdour, and Assa-Zag during Monday, while they may reach between 30 and 40 mm on Tuesday in a number of provinces, including Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Zagora, Al Haouz, Azilal, Errachidia, Midelt, Tata, and Assa-Zag.
These data reflect the expanding scope of the anticipated weather disturbances, with varying intensity from one region to another, requiring caution and vigilance, particularly in mountainous areas, depressions, and riverbeds, to avoid potential risks associated with thundery precipitation, local flash floods, and wind gusts.
On the temperature level, forecasts indicate variations across regions, as the atmosphere will remain colder in the Atlas and Rif mountains and the eastern high plateaus, compared to relatively higher temperatures in the southern regions and the Souss area, with a daytime drop recorded in several regions.
