Crown Prince Inaugurates Nador Container Terminal

In execution of the High Instructions of King Mohammed Sixth, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan has officially launched operations at the first container terminal within the Nador West Med industrial and port complex, located in the commune of Iauzaen in the Nador province.

This inaugural phase included the inauguration of the first container unloading operation from a commercial vessel, marking the official start of port activities at this major strategic hub, which reinforces the Kingdom's logistical infrastructure. This massive project aims to boost national capacities in maritime transport and international trade, as the eastern terminal features a capacity of up to 3.5 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), to be followed by the western terminal scheduled to enter service in April 2027, bringing the total port capacity to 5.3 million containers. Alongside its pivotal role in strengthening Morocco's position as a global trade hub, the project places great emphasis on the human and developmental dimension by accelerating the implementation of specialized training programs that meet the demands of emerging economic and industrial activities, thereby contributing to the qualification of local talent and providing professional integration opportunities for youth in line with royal directives aimed at achieving sustainable and inclusive regional development.
