Sharjah: Energy projects worth five billion dirhams

The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority announced the launch of a strategic package of major development projects with a total value exceeding five billion and two hundred million dirhams, during the Future Station Forum, which aims to support the energy and water sectors and enhance advanced infrastructure in the emirate.

This step comes within the framework of a comprehensive vision focused on elevating service quality and keeping pace with the rapid urban and population growth witnessed by Sharjah. The announced projects covered the water sector through the establishment of a new desalination plant, the development of modern transmission networks, pumping stations, and the construction of strategic reservoirs to ensure the sustainability of water resources. In the energy field, the plan focused on employing the latest advanced technological technologies to prepare networks and absorb clean energy, by applying innovative solutions for smart energy control and operating advanced automatically managed stations. The modern systems used have also achieved notable positive results represented by reducing network losses by twenty-five percent, and reducing failures by forty percent without the need for direct human intervention, alongside modernizing high-pressure networks to ensure high reliability and continuity in providing services efficiently and flexibly to support the sustainable development march.
