National security services in the city of Ben Guerir succeeded in dismantling a criminal network specialized in the trafficking of psychotropic substances following a precise security operation targeting a suspect hideout in the Al-Taqaddum neighborhood. Field interventions resulted in the arrest of three individuals aged between 19 and 22 years old, for their alleged involvement in crimes of possession and trafficking of hallucinogenic pills and the formation of a criminal gang.
Search procedures carried out in this case led to the seizure of 160 psychotropic medical tablets of the Rivotril type, white weapons, and significant sums of cash allegedly originating from this criminal activity, in addition to mobile phones used to coordinate these illegal operations. The suspects were placed in police custody at the disposal of the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office to clarify the potential ramifications of this criminal activity, before being brought before justice, which decided to remand them to the local prison pending the completion of trial proceedings.
