The sessions of the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit witnessed the announcement of a qualitative partnership by the medical group "M42" to develop high-precision diagnostic platforms based on genomic research and artificial intelligence algorithms, focused on the early examination of malignant tumors through the analysis of blood samples at the molecular level using the "liquid biopsy" technique; a qualitative step that consolidates Abu Dhabi's position as a leading regional hub in life sciences and regenerative and applied medicine.
This diagnostic system acquires a dual importance based on reports from the World Health Organization (WHO) and research by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), which confirm that the early diagnosis of tumors in their initial stages raises cure and survival rates above 90% in many common cancers, in addition to reducing medical care costs by percentages exceeding 50% compared to late treatment, based on the detection of circulating free tumor DNA (ctDNA) fragments with an analytical precision superior to imaging tests and traditional tissue biopsies.
This step integrates strategically with the biological databases of the "Emirates Genomic Program", accelerating the institutional transition towards predictive and personalized precision medicine models guided by the genetic characteristics of each individual; which grants medical teams the capacity to intervene proactively and design specific personalized treatments, contributing effectively to reducing mortality rates and improving patients' quality of life through the integration of the latest advanced health technologies.
