The language of military threat and cross-declarations of diplomacy once again dominates the tense scenario between Washington and Tehran; as US President Donald Trump has hinted at the possibility of launching a decisive military strike against Iran at any moment, while Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian responded with a fierce attack, accusing sectors of the US administration of being "cowards" and holding them responsible for undermining the path of negotiation.

In statements to the press that reflected the "brinkmanship" strategy, Trump intensified his tone toward Tehran, noting that the option of a rapid military action is strongly on the table and could be carried out at an unexpected moment "perhaps tomorrow," while maintaining room for diplomatic maneuvering by stating that "reaching an agreement remains possible" if Iran abandons its nuclear program and meets US conditions.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian launched a counterattack during state-tv broadcasted statements, in which he revealed the background of the stalemate in recent talks; he stated that both sides were waging real rounds of negotiation to establish understandings, before those whom he described as "cowards" within decision-making circles in Washington intervened to abort such efforts and ruin the path of rapprochement at its critical stages.

This exchange reflects the growing intensity of regional and international tension, in light of Tehran's refusal to yield to dictations and Washington's efforts to tighten the siege by combining the use of excessive force with attempts to impose a new political pact, placing the security of the region before a delicate test open to all kinds of scenarios.
